City Vision chooses Genoa for sport – Sport Marketing News

The second appointment of the 2024 roadshow of City Vision, the Blum and Padova Hall project that talks about the intelligent transformation of cities, was held today in Genoa, at the Genova Blue District. The working table “A city in the field: places of sport to transform the territory” brought together more than 20 speakers including mayors, councilors, businesses and representatives of the world of sport to discuss how much places and practices of sport can represent a formidable lever of development and growth for a community.

“We brought these themes to Genoa, the European Capital of Sport 2024 – declared Domenico Lanzilotta, director of City Vision -. With a working group that focused on some of the best practices implemented by public administrations: redevelopments, investments, new infrastructures to give vitality to neighborhoods. The contribution of companies and startups is also fundamental, as is that of the associations that have borne witness to a theme, sport, that can unite”.

Various speakers spoke at the working table, such as Alessandra Bianchi, Councilor for Sports Facilities and Activities, Tourism of the Municipality of Genoa, Simona Ferro, Councilor for Sport of the Liguria Region, Antonio Micillo, President of CONI Liguria, Omar Peruzzo, Deputy Coordinator of Sports Commission of ANCI Liguria and Stefano Pellacani, contact person for the Sportcity Foundation.

Alessandra Bianchi, Councilor for Sport and Tourism of the Municipality of Genoa, commented: “’Genoa 2024 European Capital of Sport’ is the result of a great commitment activated along several lines with the values ​​of Sport as the basis, the one with a capital S: accessibility, inclusion, the promotion of healthier lifestyles and teamwork are, in fact, the object of our utmost attention and we are pleased that our project is, from this perspective, considered a best practice. The numbers, so far, are also encouraging and in line with our expectations. But what we, as an Administration, care about particularly is that this annual event can leave a legacy for our city. And, speaking of teamwork, the project of the 10 accessible and free-to-use sports areas which, together with Sport and Health, we are carrying out is taking shape in this direction”.

Claudio Oliva, Director of the Job Center srl, declared: “The experience that the Municipality of Genoa and its partners, through the Genova Blue District, have achieved, seeking sustainable solutions in the country for sea sports – energy, materials, accessibility – by connecting them with local businesses and the territory and transforming them into an experience for citizens to live during the 9 days of the Grand Finale of The Ocean Race, it is an example of how a sporting event can be an extraordinary lever of innovation and change and can , starting from profound values ​​and care for the environment, support the construction of a new paradigm of development of cities and the economy”.
