Tony Estanguet: The lighting of the flame “marks the start of the celebration of the 2024 Olympic Games”

The Olympic flame sets off, heading for the Paris games! During this immutable ritual, which symbolically takes place on the site of the ancient games, a stone’s throw from the Temple of Hera in Olympia, the flame will be lit and then it will begin its journey. Thousands of kilometers across Greece, first, to the port of Piraeus; then Marseille on May 8, followed by a tour of France to Paris… On this occasion, RFI receives the president of the organizing committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Games (Cojop) live from Olympia, Greece.
