Malachi Flynn plays the role of playmaker, the player who usually manages the team’s attacking actions, especially in the initial phase, holding the ball for the longest time. In the summer of 2019 he was chosen by the Toronto Raptors in the draft, the event during which NBA teams take turns choosing new players arriving in the league. In the previous season the Toronto Raptors had just won the first and only NBA title in their history. Flynn then remained there for three and a half seasons without ever managing to establish himself as a starter: his best year, at least on a statistical level, remained his first, in which he averaged 7.5 points and 2.9 assists per game. game (playing 47 out of 82 in the regular season, of which just 14 starting in the starting five).
On December 30, 2023, therefore during the current season, he moved to the New York Knicks, where, however, he played very little, just 4.4 minutes on average per game (games last 48 minutes in the NBA).
