SCAN SPORT – The Frenchwoman broke the world record for rope climbing with 110 m under the Eiffel Tower.

Anouk Garnier, ambassador of the Paris 2024 volunteer program, this Wednesday broke the world record for rope climbing, by hoisting herself to the end of a 110 meter long rope stretched under the Eiffel Tower. The double world obstacle course champion (OCR) in her age category achieved this feat, before ending her course by touching the 2nd floor of the tower.

Anouk Garnier sets a new world record for both men and women. The previous records belonged to South African Thomas Van Tondre (90 meters) and Dane Ida Mathilde Steensgaard (26 meters).

“I will have gone through ups and downs on the way to this record… The weather has not always been my ally and we had to agree on the agendas of all the protagonists involved in this monumental project. But I never stopped believing in it. The satisfaction and joy I get from it today are even more intense. It’s a completely crazy dream that has just come true…”summarized Anouk Garnier, moved after her feat.
