Zverev, Khachanov, and Marozsan Advance in Atlanta Open

Zverev does not procrastinate

The German was not surprised by Chris Eubanks, who was playing at home in the United States. The Atlanta native was unable to take advantage of the support of the Florida public to resist the heavy strikes of his opponent this Monday, who won in two sets (7-6, 6-3). The decisive game of the 1st set was interrupted at 4-3 for Zverev by bad weather, a fact of play which benefited him since he finally won it 7-4.

Lining up 3 entry games in the second set, he made life easier to continue his journey without losing too much energy against the 32nd in the world. After his great victory against Félix Auger-Aliassime, here he is in the round of 16. He will face Karen Khachanov.

Khachanov overcomes Cerundolo

The Russian (16th) put up a good battle against the Argentinian (21st) to reach the eighth place. He ended up winning after a decisive game in the third set (6-1, 5-7, 7-6), on his 5th match point. Francisco Cerundolo will regret having entered the game after losing the 1st set, showing himself much more solid on his fielding during the last two sets. But the Russian held on and avoided a scare by taking the final decisive game into his own hands. He will face Alexander Zverev in the 8th.

Marozsan confirms

The Hungarian world number 57 confirmed his good form by dismissing Alexei Popyrin, better ranked than him (45th), in two sets (7-5, 6-3). After his demonstration in the previous round against Holger Rune, Marozsan was opportunistic at the end of the first set to break the Australian on his first set point. He will face Alex De Minaur or Jan-Lennard Struff in the round of 16.

Next to his tennis, Rune is dispatched by Marozsan in the 2nd round
