Mirra Andreeva Stuns Wimbledon Winner Marketa Vondrousova in Madrid

Mirra Andreeva is getting better and better and defeated Marketa Vondrousova in Madrid.

In her first meeting on the tour, Czech No. 7 seed Marketa Vondrousova faced teenager Mirra Andreeva. From the start, the Russian showed no fear of the reigning Wimbledon champion and started with a quick 4-1 lead. Afterwards, the 16-year-old had her only weak phase in the match and even had to accept the interim equalizer. When the score was 5:5, she took advantage of her third break chance in the game and then served confidently to win the first round.
