Rising Impact: Nakaba Suzuki’s Manga Adaptation Set to Debut on Netflix This Summer

The first two seasons of Nakaba Suzuki’s famous manga of the same name are coming this summer.

“Rising Impact,” the first anime adaptation of Nakaba Suzuki’s famous manga of the same name, will debut as Season 1 exclusively on Netflix on June 22nd, followed by Season 2 on August 6th. The manga, which embodies friendship and hard work, captured people’s hearts and minds in the late 1990s and early 2000s.

In “Rising Impact,” Gawain Nanaumi is a third-grader with an incredible love for baseball and actually making the ball fly. During a chance encounter with professional golfer Kiria Nishino, he learns that golf allows him to hit a ball further than any other sport.

With the help of his physical strength and keen observation skills, which he acquired from living in a rural mountain region, he manages to hit the ball so far that he even surpasses the professionals. With Kiria’s help, the new golf enthusiast enrolls at Camelot Academy, a prestigious school for experienced and aspiring golfers from around the world. Gawain wants to become the best professional golfer in the world, but there are other golf prodigies with exceptional skills standing in his way, and he must face various trials to overcome them.

“I never thought that my first work would appear as an anime on Netflix after 25 years,” says Suzuki, who also wrote the famous fantasy manga series “The Seven Deadly Sins,” which was adapted as an anime. “The production team meticulously recreated the illustrations and demonstrated exceptional love for this project. As a writer, I am truly blown away. The artwork and direction are simply outstanding, and the voice actors delivered a performance that fits the characters perfectly.”
