They intervene due to condominium disputes, after the report of a man who was harassing the neighbors, and he welcomes them with a baseball bat. Over the weekend the carabinieri arrested a fifty-nine year old resident of the city in Trecate, on charges of resisting and threatening a public official.
The 112 call came from some residents of the building, who claimed to have been offended and even threatened, apparently with a knife. Upon their arrival, the soldiers rang the bell of the man indicated as responsible for such behavior and he, in response, showed up “armed” with a bat, implying that he would not have hesitated to use it if they had not left him in peace.
One of the carabinieri, with a lightning move, managed to disarm him. And, given the uncooperative attitude of the fifty-year-old, the arrest was made. Upon validation, the judge established the precautionary measure of the obligation to sign while awaiting immediate trial.
