This year everything is different!
In the past, the announcement of the DFB team’s squad was always a big secret. Before the home European Championship (from June 14th) in the summer, the squad is filling up little by little until the official squad nomination on Thursday. By then, around a dozen names will be announced via media, celebrities, influencers and fans.

So far, the DFB has already announced ten players through various channels that national coach Julian Nagelsmann (36) has nominated.
Officially included are:
Nico Schlotterbeck (24/BVB/centre defender)
Jonathan Tah (28/Leverkusen/centre defender)
Aleksandar Pavlovic (20/Bayern Munich/Midfield)
Manuel Neuer (38/Bayern Munich/Goalkeeper)
Niclas Füllkrug (31/BVB/Striker)
Chris Führich (26/VfB Stuttgart/Left Winger)
Robin Koch (27/Eintracht Frankfurt/centre defender)
Kai Havertz (24/FC Arsenal/attacking midfield)
Leroy Sané (28/Bayern Munich/right wing)
Maxi Mittelstädt (27/VfB Stuttgart/left-back)
According to BILD information, Deniz Undav (27) will be added tomorrow, who will complete the storm trio around Füllkrug and Havertz. Overall, there shouldn’t be any real surprises from now on.

The salami tactic follows a larger plan: Under the motto “Our squad for Germany”, the DFB wants to increase anticipation for the European Championship in its own country and get football Germany in the mood for the tournament.
Example Neuer: The goalkeeper was nominated in a roofer’s Instagram video. Colleague Pavlovic in the evening program on RTL in the program “Exclusiv” and Stürmer Füllkrug on the radio on NRW station 1Live.
Behind this is the DFB’s new strategy, which is intended to create more anticipation.
