Latvian National Volleyball Team Seeks New Head Coach With Big Goals in Mind

Polis Michals Gogol has left the position of head coach of the Latvian national volleyball team, and a new specialist is being sought to replace him. News in this regard is expected in the first half of April. The goals with a new head coach are big.

The general secretary of the Latvian Volleyball Federation (LVF) Arnis Tunte revealed in a conversation with TVNET that the federation’s management was satisfied with Gogol’s work and achievements, but he is unable to equally successfully combine work in the club and the national team. Sitting on two chairs, from the perspective of the national team, is not possible.

Gogol preferred to work in the club, which offers him significantly better opportunities financially.

“Japan, China are trying to invest a lot in sports. It’s not easy to do it, but if you can, then everything is fine. I don’t know what amounts they’re talking about, but certainly few countries in Europe can compete with that level,” said the LVF Secretary General Arnis Tunte. “Humanly, there is no reproach on my part. Absolute understanding…”
