Indurain, Luis León and Pereiro are already pedaling towards the Titan Desert

The team Kosner-Saltoki Home has concentrated this weekend in La Pineda (Tarragona) for its participation in the Skoda Titan Desert Morocco 2024, which will be held from April 28 to May 3. The members of the group have been able to develop specific preparation for the test there in a few conditions similar to those that will be found during the race in the Moroccan desert.

Throughout the weekend, the team members have prepared on dirt, stone and sand tracks with two bicycle outings. Likewise, they have had time to deepen teamwork and effort as the basis of success, also complementing their preparation with technical talks on nutrition, mechanics, navigation and the main aspects to take into account during Titan Desert itself.

Kosner-Saltoki Home has set up a top level teammade up of customers, employees and professional cyclists, such as Miguel Indurain, Oscar Pereiro, Luis Leon Sanchez, Sylvain Chavanel and Pruden Indurain.

Solidarity initiative

The Kosner-Saltoki Home will participate in the test for the second consecutive year and will once again turn the effort of its cyclists into a donation to the Luzón Foundation for the fight against amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). This year they have the largest team in the history of the Skoda Titan Desert, made up of 62 cyclists, and will donate 50 euros to the Luzón Foundation for each member of the team that finishes each of the 6 stages.

In addition, it will add 1,000 euros for each daily stage victory in the male, female, mixed and team categories, as well as another 1,000 euros for each first place in the final classification in the male, female, mixed, team, elite, master 40, master 50 and master 60.

To ensure that the members of the Kosner-Saltoki Home travel as many kilometers as possible, Juan Carlos Unzuéa former professional soccer player and coach who has been fighting the disease since 2019, has participated in this initiative with a very motivating message to the ‘titans’ during this weekend’s concentration in La Pineda.

Juan Carlos Unzué has shown himself “excited to be part of the team”. Furthermore, he has pointed out what is needed to confidently face a test as tough as the Škoda Titan Desert: “That competitive gene that we have and that all the participants who will go to the Titan have is what keeps you eager, excited and perseverant” .

To repeat the great performance

In last year’s edition, the Kosner-Saltoki Home signed a historic double by achieving victory in the women’s general with Tessa Kortekaas and in the mixed duo, formed by Iosu Torres and Ainara Elbusto, in addition to fighting for victory in the men’s general until the last stage.

Demanding route

The Skoda Titan Desert Morocco 2024 stands out for the hardness of its journey. Participants will have to travel more than 600 kilometers and 7,000 meters of elevation gain accumulated over six stages.

The test will start in Boumalne Dades on April 28 and will end at the traditional finish line of Maadid, on May 3. Mountains, desert, fast tracks and navigation sections come together in an edition that will be full of contrasts, surprises and challenges for the Kosner-Saltoki Home team’s expedition.
