He University of Chile adult women’s basketball team will travel this Wednesday, May 1, to Asunción, Paraguay, to face seven other teams in the first phase of the South American Women’s Club League 2024, event of the International Association of Basketball Federation that brings together the best eight teams on the continent.
The tournament squads will be divided into two groups. Group A – which will be played between May 3 and 5 – is the one whose protagonist is the U and will feature the participation of the local quintet Felix Perez Cardozo (PAR), SESI Araraquara Basketball of Brazil and Ambato Soldiers of Ecuador.
In Group B, which will take place between May 9 and 11, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, the host Obras, Club de Tenis La Paz from Bolivia, Club Aguada from Uruguay and Power Basketball from Colombia will compete.
The top two teams in each group will advance to the Final Four, scheduled for June 15 and 16, at a venue to be announced later.
In 2023, this same national quintet reached that stage in the Basketball Champions League Americas. There they finished as the best third team in America, which predicts a good tournament this year in Guaraní lands.
