According to Ian Rapoport, the Indianapolis Colts and Michael Pittman Jr have agreed on the terms of a three-year, $70 million contract. The deal could bring in a maximum of $71.5 million and 46 of that would be guaranteed.
This therefore means that the receiver will no longer have the franchise player tag, while NFL teams have until Tuesday, 4 p.m., to affix the tag to a player.
Pittman, 26, will be entering his fifth season in the NFL, all played with Indianapolis.
During the most recent campaign, the 2020 second-round pick had 1,152 passing yards and four touchdowns. He also caught 109 of the 156 passes thrown his way.
Pittman missed one game last season due to a concussion. The incident occurred during the 15th week of activity in a game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The receiver was violently tackled by Damontae Kazee before leaving the game.
