FIFA cancels North Korea – Japan game

The world football governing body (FIFA) has canceled the World Cup qualifier between North Korea and Japan scheduled for Tuesday. Due to a lack of a replacement venue and a lack of dates, the game will not be rescheduled. FIFA announced this on Saturday and announced that it would also refer the case to the disciplinary committee for a decision on the game rating. This suggests that the match will be rated 3-0 for Japan.

According to the Asian Football Confederation AFC, North Korea announced on Wednesday that it could not host the game in Pyongyang due to “unavoidable circumstances” and asked for it to be moved to a neutral location. The AFC did not disclose details.
