In the second half, Augsburg repeatedly came into or into the Cologne penalty area. Substitute Dion Beljo was just centimeters away from making it 2-1, but Cologne’s Jan Uwe Thielmann cleared on the line (70th).

Cologne also had chances, but Sargis Adamyan’s shot was blocked (63′) and the Augsburg team was able to intercept substitute Damion Downs while sprinting (73′). Shortly before the end, FC Augsburg almost managed to win with a shot from Vargas (87th). It wasn’t enough for the Augsburg team to achieve the club record of five Bundesliga wins in a row – after winning four games, the winning streak ends.
