Italy Women’s Rugby Makes History with Win Over Ireland at Women’s Six Nations

Italy’s rugby is constantly growing, and not just at a men’s level. Easter with a surprise also for the Italians, who in a match valid for the second day of the Women’s Six Nations went on to win 27-21 (15-7) in Dublinimposing itself for the first time on Ireland’s home soil.

Coach Raineri’s team also won the offensive bonus thanks to tries by Vecchini (two, nominated as ‘player of the match’), Fedrighi (first international score for her) and Muzzo. The match was attended by 6,605 spectators, a record for a women’s match in Ireland.

The success earned Italrugby 5 points and third place in the standings after 2 days, behind England and France.
