The main seeds of the Miami Masters 1000 will be there in the round of 16. Alexander Zverev (5th in the world, seeded n°4) won in style (7-6 [4], 6-3) this Monday against Christopher Eubanks to qualify for the round of 16. The American (32nd) failed to go the distance, after a tight first set. Zverev will face Karen Khachanov in the next round.
On an almost identical score (7-6 [3], 6-4), Alex De Minaur (10th) dismissed Jan-Lennard Struff. The Australian has already won his 16th success this season, having reached the final of the ATP 500 in Rotterdam – beaten by Jannik Sinner – then won the ATP 500 in Acapulco by beating Casper Ruud. He will meet Fabian Marozsan in the next round.
Hubert Hurkacz (9th) and Karen Khachanov (16th) had more difficulty getting rid of their respective opponents but they still qualified. Hurkacz dominated Sebastian Korda in three sets (7-6 [5]6-7 [5]6-3) and Khachanov beat Francisco Cerundolo (6-1, 5-7, 7-6 [5]).
