The Frenchwoman is in the quarter-finals of the WTA 1000 in Miami after beating the world No.3 on Monday.
The Frenchwoman Caroline Garcia (27th in the world) qualified on Monday for the quarter-finals of the WTA 1000 tournament in Miami by beating the American Coco Gauff, world No.3, 6-3 at the end of a match full of twists and turns. 1-6, 6-2 in 1 hour 43 minutes.
The French N.1, who manages to pass three rounds of a tournament for the first time since Beijing in October 2023, will meet for a place in the last four the Romanian Sorana Cirstea (24th) or the American Danielle Collins (53rd) .
Garcia, who remained on two victories against Gauff at the US Open 2022 then at the WTA Masters the same season, got into his match very well.
From the second game, she got two break points, and converted the second on a fault from the young American, 20, to lead 2-0, then break away 3-0 by winning her serve.

To make matters worse, the pain in her right shoulder, from which Garcia had already suffered at the end of the match against Naomi Osaka the day before, had reawakened, and the Frenchwoman had a long massage before starting the third round.
