ROME, 22 FEB – “An extraordinary day today in Sardinia. This morning in Cagliari I was able to meet many people, families and associations who wanted to talk to me about the most important issues both for the territory and also for the national government, to better understand in which direction we are fully implementing the enabling law on disability”. The Minister for Disabilities Alessandra Locatelli told ANSA this evening on the sidelines of a public meeting in the municipal library in Domusnovas, in the province of Southern Sardinia. “I then had the pleasure of getting to know – he explained – other important entities in the area that deal with autism, inclusive workshops but also recreational time and accessible tourism. In the afternoon in the Sulcis area of ​​Domusnovas I visited the most accessible caves of Europe (Cave of San Giovanni ed.), truly a very important and extraordinary route for people with disabilities, but for everyone, which must be valorised and must become an increasingly precious point of reference for the territory. So I had a meeting public with many representatives of the associative world but also of the institutions, where we discussed some crucial issues that will have to be dealt with by the next regional government, especially on the subject of healthcare and taking care of the person and where I underlined how much the work started must be carry forward with conviction because we can work together and do more and more.” In the afternoon at the E.Fini sports field the minister met the Asd Thurpos sports group baseball team of the Italian Union of the Blind and Visually Impaired.
