Jordan Poole of the Wizards will be coming off the bench against the Nuggets’ Nikola Jokić and Jamal Murray.

During the All-Star break, it is a chance to reflect on the highlights of the season. I came across five astonishing statistics about Jordan Poole. Reflecting on my experience with Jordan Poole:https://t.co/hvfWrhbxB4 pic.twitter.com/wYMS4Avt8x

This will not be a new experience. During his four years with the Golden State Warriors, Poole frequently led the second unit when the team was fully healthy. However, it will be a significant change to go from coming off the bench behind players like Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson to potentially being replaced by rookie Bilal Coulibaly or third-year wing Corey Kispert.

Unfortunately, it is not a positive indication when you are forced to demote a player in the initial year of a 8 million contract lasting four years. Currently, this seems to be a disadvantageous agreement that the Wizards will have to endure for its entire duration.

“He deserves credit, as Jordan has consistently had one of our highest net ratings ever since I took over. I hope to continue seeing that from him,” he stated.

24-year-old Poole has been a consistent starter in all 52 games he has played this season, playing alongside point guard Tyus Jones in the backcourt. However, their partnership has not been successful, with the Wizards being outscored by 9.1 points per 100 possessions when they are on the court together, according to NBA.com.

Unfortunately, Poole’s net rating for the year is -10.6, indicating a difficult time for the team in his presence. Being dubbed the midseason MVP of Shaqtin’ A Fool is never a good sign.

Brian Keefe, the interim head coach of the Washington Wizards, informed journalists that Jordan Poole would be coming off the bench for their game against the Denver Nuggets on Thursday.

To be honest, the 9-45 Wizards have faced challenges overall. While most of the teams in the bottom ranks have potential to nurture promising young players, these Wizards are still in the initial phases of rebuilding and do boast experienced players like Poole, Jones, and Kyle Kuzma.

It will be intriguing to observe the performance of Poole, who maintains an average of 15.6 points and 3.7 assists per game, with a shooting percentage of 40% from the field and 30.3% from three, as he adapts to his recently acquired position.

The Wizards’ decision is logical as it allows them to closely evaluate how a talented young player meshes with the starting lineup. It also offers Poole more opportunities to lead the offense for the second unit.

Keefe stated that the decision was aimed at “enhancing the collective performance” and that Poole excelled when he had possession of the ball and was in charge of the offense.
