Diego Schwartzman Congratulates Román Burruchaga and Sets Sights on Argentina Open

The Argentine tennis player Diego Schwartzman congratulated Román Burruchaga, who eliminated him from the Córdoba Open in the opening round, and anticipated that he will begin to prepare for the next Argentina Open that will begin on February 12.

“I want to congratulate Burru for his first ATP match and for his great work team,” commented the “Peque” in dialogue with the media after his defeat in the opening round was consummated last night.

Schwartzman, relegated to 117th place in the world ranking, lost to Burruchaga (170) 6-1, 4-6 and 6-4 to quickly say goodbye to the Córdoba ATP.

“For my part, I am angry about the level I showed, but I will continue in that search to improve every day, always leaving with my head held high to try and leaving everything on the field,” concluded the “Peque.”

Schwartzman, 31, will try to improve his level in the Argentina Open that will begin on Monday at the Buenos Aires Lawn Tennis Club, with the precedent of having been champion in the 2021 edition when he defeated Francisco Cerúndolo in the final.
