Count from the mountainsby Bobo Pernettaz and Franz Rossi, is not just a book of mountain stories, but something more.
It is an innovative project that goes beyond the limits of printed paper to accompany the reader on a journey made up of stories to read, to listen to in podcast Il ContaStorieand music to let yourself be carried away by.
But it was also born of it a tour, a series of events throughout Italy in which the two authors tell the “Story of Stories”, an original tale.
Count from the mountains, what the book-podcast on mountain stories is about
Co-written by Bobo Pernettaz and Franz Rossi, Conte dai monti was born from the memories and imagination of the authors.
The preface is signed by Franco Faggiani, one of the most beloved authors of mountain literature, while the afterword is the work of Giovanni Storti, the Giovanni of the comic trio Aldo, Giovanni and Giacomo.
The title draws inspiration from the territory where the word “conte”, or even “cunte”, means stories, those with a mountain flavour.

Count from the mountainspublished by Borioula Media Company, was born from the contamination between the languages of different arts: the result is a lively and hyper-realistic narrative, accompanied by images of Bobo Pernettaz’s works which become complementary to the project.
“The starting idea was to tell the story of the mountains, say the authors. Not the glossy one in magazines. Not the epic documentary kind. But the real one, made by people, the one that has deep roots in the past, but knows that we need to look to the future with an open mind.”
Pernettaz and Rossi have decided to challenge each other stepping out of their respective comfort zones and, in addition to the tools that are suitable for them, painting and writing, they have decided to experiment with new techniques: the podcast, the voice, the sounds, the music.
The result is a unique work which, in the words of the authors, is a precious opportunity to create a dialogue with those who read and listen.

The authors
Bobo Pernettaz he is an established painter from the Aosta Valley, a tailor of exhausted wood, known for his unmistakable style which mixes pictorial skills with the use of old pieces of wood and metal which are modeled to give three-dimensionality to his works.
Franz Rossi he is a writer who has published several books, also winning the Bancarella Sport in 2014. Of Venetian origins, he chose to live in Emarèse, a small town in the valley, and since 2021 he has dedicated himself, in addition to writing, to podcasting.
Conte dai monti: book, podcast, songs
Conte dai monti is a volume of over 200 pages that collects 12 stories: for each of them, thanks to a QR codeyou can listen to the version told by Bobo’s voice and enriched by the soundscape recreated by Franz.
The stories are grouped into three sections: the kingdom of fantasy, the kingdom of suggestions and the kingdom of memories.
Musical interludes have been inserted between one section and another, accompanied by a QRcode that links to Spotify where you can listen to them for free. They present themselves as poems but in reality they are songs written and performed by Franz Rossi with the help of the musicians Katia Perret (voice, piano, harmonica and accordion), Marco Lavit (classical guitar, solo guitar), Antonella Gachet (cello). The arrangements are by Katia Perret and Marco Lavit.
In addition to the simple book, Conte dai monti is available in a box set, containing in addition to the volume a numbered and autographed reproduction of the painting “La via dei monti”, created ad hoc by Bobo Pernettaz.

Conte dai monti is a tour
An important part of the Conte dai monti project is based on meeting people. Bobo and Franz have decided to take their “counts” around Italy in a calendar that will see them, for the next few months, touring bookstores, festivals, events in the square, vernissages of exhibitions.
During these events the two authors will tell, with their unmistakable style, the “Story of Stories”, an original story.
