Basketball: winner of Bourg, Nanterre rushes to the final of the Leaders Cup

Ten years after their last participation in the final of the Leaders Cup, Nanterre returns to the last level of the competition which sees the eight best teams in the championship championship face off. Against Bourg-en-Bresse, Pascal Donnadieu’s men offered a Dantesque fourth quarter, they who were trailing by ten points at the start of the last act (67-77).

By inflicting a 14-0 on their opponents from the start of this last quarter, the Greens did honor to Saint-Etienne, where the meeting took place, to lead 81 to 77. Opposite, the Bressans were responsive and came back up to 3 points. But the comeback led by Ibrahima Fall-Faye and Juhann Begarin was too strong (33-18) in the last quarter.

Before this victory, the first in more than two years against Bourg-en-Bresse, Nanterre had won the day before against ASVEL (82-78), winner last year. In 2014, for its last and only final in the competition, the Greens lost to Le Mans. This Sunday, they will be able to offer themselves a derby against Paris which has the difficult task of winning against Monaco in the semi-final before that.
