The NBA announced on Tuesday that Cleveland Cavaliers’ center Tristan Thompson has been suspended for 25 games without pay due to a violation of the league’s anti-drug policy.
The five teams are the Boston Celtics, Sacramento Kings, Indiana Pacers, Chicago Bulls, and Los Angeles Lakers.
The Cleveland Cavaliers, currently on an eight-game winning streak, brought him back onto their team as a free agent prior to the start of this season. He is currently averaging 3.8 points and 3.9 rebounds in just 12 minutes of playing time.
Thompson will be suspended starting Wednesday for the Cavs’ next two games against the Milwaukee Bucks.
As per the league, Thompson, aged 32, was found to have taken ibutamoren and SARM LGD-4033, substances often used by bodybuilders and weightlifters to increase muscle mass.
