Inter Struggle Against Hellas Verona: A Crazy Finish to the Match

Inter has started the new football year quite shakily. It was heading for a draw against relegation candidate Hellas Verona, until Davide Frattesi scored in extra time. After heavy protests, Lazovic was excluded, but even with ten Verona were awarded a penalty, which Thomas Henry missed.

Two Belgians kick off at Hellas Verona: Cyril Ngonge and Jackson Tchatchoua. They saw the Capocannoniere of Serie A, Lautaro Martínez, open his account for 2024 after 13 minutes. His 16th goal of the season.

What seemed to be the start of a carefree afternoon for Inter degenerated into a crazy final phase after ex-OHL striker Thomas Henry’s equalizer.

Because it was only in extra time that substitute Davide Frattesi was able to free Inter with an accurate rebound.

The VAR looked at the goal and gave the green light, but that was not to the liking of Darko Lazovic, who had to leave the field with a red card.

Inter still could not get the match under control, as Henry was able to equalize from the spot in the 100th minute. He hit the post.

Inter will therefore maintain its lead of at least 2 points over Juventus after this match day. It threatens to be a long relegation fight for Hellas Verona.
