Brooklyn Nets Continue Free Fall with Fifth Consecutive Loss: Players Express Frustration and a Lack of Hunger

The Brooklyn Nets continue in free fall after suffering their fifth consecutive loss against the Houston Rockets this Wednesday, and the ninth in the last eleven games.

One of the main references of the squad, Mikal Bridges, recognized after the loss against the New Orleans Pelicans this Tuesday that the team has lost its hunger and response capacity.

“They punched us in the mouth and we sat there, without reacting,” the Nets forward said ironically. «We were not able to recover afterwards. And that depends on the players. It’s going to be like this. “We have to take responsibility for ourselves to get back up and fight.” Bridges himself shared some of the blame, adding that he hopes to “do better, being more vocal and physical on both sides of the court.”

This same week, his teammate Nicolas Claxton also spoke about the direction of the team and admitted that there is great frustration within the locker room. Currently, the Nets occupy ninth place in the Eastern Conference, only half a game ahead of Chicago and Toronto, eleventh and twelfth.
