The Los Angeles Lakers Make History by Winning NBA’s In-Season Tournament

17 NBA, 32 Western Conference, 24 Pacific Division and, as of tonight, a In-Season Tournament. The Los Angeles Lakers won the first ‘NBA Cup’ in history beating the Indiana Pacers in the final, at the end of a clear run (7-0) which saw the yellow and purple win all the matches of the mini tournament (the four group matches, the quarter-finals at the Crypto.com Arena and the semi-final & final on a neutral pitch at the T-Mobile Arena in the ‘Final Four’ in Las Vegas).

LeBron James was crowned MVP of the tournament, adding the Cup and the individual award to his incredible and infinite personal Palmarès. The “King” concluded the competition with these averages: 26.4 PPG (average points per game), 8 RPG (average rebounds per game) and 7.6 APG (average assists per game). Anthony Davis was the MVP of the final with 41 points, 20 rebounds and 5 assistsfinishing in the first half alone with: 17 points (8/13 from the field), 11 rebounds and 2 blocks. “The Brow” became the third player in Lakers history to finish a game with 40+ points and 20+ rebounds, after Elgin Baylor and Wilt Chamberlain. Success in the new competition is the primo career title as ‘head coach’ for Darvin Ham and the primo triumph in the League for starlet Austin Reaves and many other guys from the ‘core’ Lakers. In addition to the trophy, there will also be a cash prize of 500k for each player on the yellow and purple roster.
