Members who are employed at companies in the Busan area express their gratitude to the university.

A special university development fund was delivered to Dongeui University.

On the 22nd, Dongeui University (President Han Su-hwan) held a friendly exchange meeting between the Dongeui University Faculty and Staff Badminton Association and the student badminton club Impact and the Busan City Disabled Badminton Club at the university’s Hyomin Gymnasium.

On this day, the disabled badminton Hyomin Club, which participated in the exchange event, donated 1 million won in university development funds to Dongeui University. This fund was raised with money raised by members active in the club as a token of gratitude for Doneui University’s support of the gym free of charge.

Jeong Hyeon-ho (26 years old, KS Credit Union), who participated in the fundraising, said, “I look forward to badminton every day because it is fun to exercise with my friends. He said, “I am grateful to Dongeui University for its support, including providing a venue and holding the competition.”

Hyeon-ho Jeong’s mother, Bok-sun Song, said, “Exercise to activate the brain is essential for people with physical disabilities. “My son’s sense of balance and concentration have improved greatly through badminton, and through continuous practice, he has become skilled enough to become a player,” he said.

For about 10 years, Dongeui University has been providing free use of Hyomin Gymnasium three times a week so that disabled athletes can exercise to their heart’s content. Additionally, faculty and student clubs hold exchange events on a regular basis, improving their ability to adapt to society.

In addition, in 2020, Dongeui University President’s Cup Busan City Disabled Badminton Competition was created and is being prepared as a stage for them every year.

As a result of these efforts, disabled people with a certain level and experience were selected as athletes by companies in the Busan area last year, providing motivation and opportunities for self-reliance. Last year, members of the Disabled Badminton Hyomin Club were employed at Lotte Hotel, Korea Asset Management Corporation, InK Korea, Korea Employment Information, Korea Credit Information, and HCM.

Hwang Kyeong-hee, mother of Kim Do-young (Inka Korea), said, “I can’t believe that my son, who had a hard time making eye contact with others, became very active through badminton and even got a job as a player and even received a salary.”

Hanseok Yoo (22 years old, 2nd year, Department of Social Welfare, Dongju University), who recently joined the Hyomin Club, said, “I have been participating in the Hyomin Club since last year at the recommendation of my mother. “I want to make a lot of friends here, and I want to exercise hard and become a social worker,” he said.

Coach Lee Sang-wook, who has been teaching them for over 10 years, said, “Compared to the general public, their skill improvement is bound to be slow, but I am very grateful that they have followed the coach’s guidance diligently and succeeded in getting a job. “I hope they continue to exercise healthily and have fun,” he said.
