Moguls ace Carroll has to take a forced break

Austria’s moguls ace Avital Carroll has to take a forced break after falling in the final of the World Cup opener in Ruka. The American-born woman suffered a hairline fracture and a sprained outer ligament in her ankle. The 27-year-old will have to take a break for around eight weeks.

Carroll is also out of the World Cup this weekend in Idre Fjall. For Katharina Ramsauer, the competition in Sweden ended after qualification. The 28-year-old was unable to finish her qualifying run. This means that the moguls World Cup will take place in Sweden without Austrian participation.
