Excitement Builds for Basketball Africa League 2024 in Kigali with Fath Union Sports from Rabat

The fourth edition of the Basketball Africa League (BAL) 2024 is being held from May 24 to June 1 in Kigali with the participation of Fath Union Sports (FUS) from Rabat.

The result of a partnership between the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) and NBA Africa, this 4th edition of the BAL sees the participation of 8 clubs. These are, in addition to FUS Rabat, Petro Atletico (Angola), Al Ahly (Egypt), Al Ahly (Libya), Rivers Hoopers (Nigeria), AS Douanes (Senegal), Cape Town Tigers (South Africa). ) and US Monastir (Tunisia).

The representative of Moroccan basketball will begin the competition on Friday by crossing swords with Al Ahly of Egypt for the classification matches, while Cape Town Tigers will face Al Ahly of Libya.

On Saturday the Senegalese club AS Douanes will play against Rivers Hoopers of Nigeria, while Petro Atletico (Angola) will challenge the Tunisian club US Monastir.

The quarter-final matches will be played on May 26 and 27, while the semi-finals will take place on the 29th of the same month. The final of the competition will be played on June 1.

A total of 12 African teams took part in BAL 2024, which took place in the form of 3 conferences (Kalahari, Nile and Sahara), bringing together 4 clubs, each of which faces the other 3 twice. The two best clubs from each conference, as well as the two best third-placed teams, qualified for this 4th edition in Kigali.
