Jaylen Brown Ejected from Celtics Game Against Knicks

NBA – Unhappy with a whistle, the Celtics All-Star was sent to the locker room in the last quarter against the Knicks.

Boston stars definitely like to go out on Friday evenings. After Jayson Tatum last Friday, this time, it was Jaylen Brown who did not finish the evening, sent to the locker room before the end by the referees.

What happened ? We are in the last quarter against the Knicks, the Celtics are ahead. The Boston All-Star makes a mistake while defending Immanuel Quickley and shows, with gestures and words, his discontent.

He then takes a technical foul, considered severe by his coach. “I’ve been around the field for five years, and I’ve seen and heard more disrespect than that”comments Joe Mazzulla for ESPN.

In the process, Jaylen Brown then takes a second technical foul, synonymous with expulsion, for “a hand signal addressed to the official, which, according to the rules of respect for the game, is considered an obvious gesture and an unsporting act”justified referee Mark Lindsay.

A bland first expulsion for Jaylen Brown

An explanation which failed to convince the Boston player, expelled for the first time in his career.

“He was overcome with emotion,”

says Jaylen Brown when talking about the referee who made the decision. “I was talking to a referee and he whistles the second technique on the other side of the field. This is a clear example of someone abusing their power to take a player out of the match. It makes no sense. »

Like Jayson Tatum last week, Jaylen Brown did not really understand his exit, which he considers exaggerated.

“I would have liked to get my money’s worth. I always thought my first eviction would be more exciting, during a fight or something. But not with a bad-tempered referee. That’s what annoys me the most. »
