In Budapest, the Ukrainian hockey players were trailing 0:2, 1:3 and 2:4 in the course of the fight, losing less than three and a half minutes before the end of the regular time (3:4), however, in the last minutes they managed to unlock the fortress of the Hungarian team twice and win with 5:4.
Balážs Varga, the 20-year-old forward of Jyveskil “JyP” Academy, scored two goals each, and Oleksandrs Vorona, who plays in the second league of Slovakia’s strongest league, also had an assist.
1+1 each for Ukrainians Ihor Merezhko and Oleksandr Peresunko, as well as for home team Bālints Horvats.
