San Juan Judo Federation Competes in the Argentine Clausura 2023 Tournament

This Wednesday, 11 judokas from San Juan traveled to Santiago del Estero to compete in the Argentine Clausura 2023 Tournament. This is the most important national instance of judo in which more than 1,200 athletes from all over the country will participate, among whom are local athletes belonging to to the San Juan Judo Federation.

Under the motto “Santiago, cradle of federal judo”, the Tournament will be from November 23 to 26, at the Technological Node of the capital of Santiago.

It should be noted that one day before traveling, when they already had paid registration, accommodation and even drivers, everything became difficult since the bus provided by the province finally could not be used.

In any case, between the coach and the parents, they resolved that they will travel in private vehicles with government help for fuel, according to what a mother confided to this medium.

Agustín Rosas, Martín Rosas, Gianmarco De Leone, Nicolás Mercado, Mateo Dávila, Jeremías Fernández, Tomás Strada, Juan Cruz Vargas, Santiago Rosas, Joaquín Sánchez, and Guadalupe Muñoz, are those who travel to the Argentine North. Along with them is the president of the Federation, Luis Meritello.

In the 2022 tournament, held in Misiones, the Sanjuanina Federation obtained five champions: Joaquín Sánchez (sub-21-73kg), Jeremías Fernández (90 kg), Guadalupe Muñoz (sub18-48kg), Luz Corral (adults-70 kg) and Domingo Vargas (90kg).
