How cricket is moving into the center of world sport

It is still almost three weeks until the new winners of the 50-over World Cup are determined at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, northern India, the largest cricket arena in the world. But the Indian selection has already won two almost equally important games during the six-week World Cup tournament.

And so brilliantly in each case that, in the opinion of some observers, the question of who will win the eleven kilo gold and silver trophy hardly even arises. Of course, this in no way dampens the enthusiasm about the first World Cup to be held only in India, quite the opposite.
