Royal Antwerp has won again in the Belgian competition after two defeats. Mark van Bommel’s team won 3-2 against KRC Genk, partly thanks to a goal from Vincent Janssen. AC Milan suffered damage at low-flyer Udinese.

Janssen opened the score for Antwerp after just four minutes. Before half time it was 3-1 thanks to two goals from Michel-Ange Balikwisha, Andi Zeqiri was accurate for Genk.

Deep into injury time, Genk had some hope when Daniel Munoz made it 3-2, but Antwerp took the win. The victory puts Van Bommel’s team in sixth place after thirteen games. The team has eight points less than Royale Union SG, which has played one match less.

Painful defeat to AC Milan, Inter strengthens its lead

AC Milan has suffered a painful defeat in the Italian football competition. Udinese, which has not yet won a match in the competition this season, was surprisingly too strong in San Siro: 0-1.

The Argentinian Roberto Pereyra took a penalty after more than an hour of play, following a foul by Yacine Adli. Milan could not overcome that deficit and only achieved one point from the last three matches.

Internazionale consolidated its lead in Serie A against Atalanta. The Milan team won the Dutch-themed match against Atalanta: 1-2. At one point during the match, five Dutch internationals were within the lines.

Inter took the lead through a converted penalty from Hakan Çalhanoglu. Lautaro Martínez doubled the margin in the second half. Atalanta made it exciting through Gianluca Scamacca, but that was it in Bergamo.

Thanks to the victory, Inter is still comfortably at the top of Serie A, while Atalanta is fifth. Napoli won 0-2 at Salernitana earlier in the day and occupies fourth place.

Moderate general Lens towards PSV

RC Lens had a disappointing Ligue 1 performance in the run-up to the Champions League match at PSV. The team of coach Franck Haise drew 0-0 at low-flying Lorient. Lens therefore remains eighth in the standings.

PSV and Lens meet in Eindhoven on Wednesday at 9 p.m. The people of Brabant need a victory to keep a good eye on wintering in the million-dollar ball. The match in Northern France ended 1-1 a week and a half ago.

Olympique Marseille did not get further than a goalless draw against Lille OSC. Lille is therefore fourth with nineteen points, while Olympique has to make do with eighth place (thirteen points).
