Giannis Antetokounmpo Signs 3-Year, $186 Million Extension with Milwaukee Bucks

Milwaukee Bucks star, Greek Giannis Antetokounmpo, has extended his contract with his franchise for three years and 186 million dollars (174.1 million euros), several American media announced on Monday.

“#Extended”, wrote the 28-year-old player on his X account, ex-Twitter, without mentioning the amount or duration.

Twice best player (MVP) of the regular season (2019 and 2020), NBA champion in 2021, Antetokounmpo was joined this summer by another star, point guard Damian Lillard from Portland, to form a duo that places the Bucks among the main favorites for the title.

Drafted in 15th position by Milwaukee in 2013, Antetokounmpo is linked to the Bucks until the end of the 2026-2027 season where he can either stay one more year or test the market.

He put pressure on his franchise this summer by saying he wanted to stay as long as his team was competitive. The answer came with Damian Lillard, even if the Bucks had to part ways with Jrue Holiday, a key player in their defense.

The NBA season begins Tuesday, the Bucks host Philadelphia.
