Let’s not forget that the last edition of the Champions League final took place in Turkey. Relations have been continuous and cordial also from a non-sports point of view. And then look at what happened in UEFA and FIFA with the decision to have the Under 17 junior teams of Russian nationality play again: with sport we try to go beyond sport, to build bridges and not barriers. I believe that this double candidacy can foster good relations through sport also in other, much more important fields.”
And on the new Champions League format: “If Italy manages to maintain second place in the UEFA ranking – concludes Christillin – we will have five teams qualified in the next Champions League. We hope that with the new Spalletti course we will be in a position to also have the fifth team “.
