Men’s 1st Judo Bundesliga: Preliminary Round Nearing its Climax

In the men’s 1st Judo Bundesliga, the penultimate day of the preliminary round will take place on Saturday (September 9th, 2023) in both the northern and southern groups. The final round, which will be held on October 7, 2023 at defending champion TSV Abensberg, is approaching.

In Group North, leaders Hamburg have a break from fighting this weekend. In the top encounter between KSC Asahi Spremberg and UJKC Potsdam, it’s about who stays closest on the heels of Hamburg. The fights in the Heide primary school in Spremberg begin at 6:00 p.m. The other pursuers Remscheid and Witten also meet at 6:00 p.m. in the sports center on Kälberweg in Witten. In the third encounter, JC 66 Bottrop welcomes tail light TSV Hertha Walheim at 6:30 p.m. in the Dieter-Renz-Halle.

The JC Rüsselsheim fights in the south group at home in the large sports hall at the Evreuxring at 6:00 p.m. against the TSV Abensberg. Second in the table KSV Esslingen welcomes 1. JC Samurai Offenbach (Auenweg; 6:00 p.m.). The other pairings: JC Leipzig against JSV Speyer (Sporthalle Brüderstraße; 6:00 p.m.) and TV Erlangen against VfL Sindelfingen (Jahnturnhalle; 5:00 p.m.).

On September 23, 2023, the final round participants will be finally determined on the last day of fighting in the north and south.
