Germany humiliated by Japan nine months from its Euro at home

Nine months before “its” European Championship at home, Germany was humiliated at home on Saturday evening by Japan (4-1), a fourth setback in five matches which weakens coach Hansi Flick. A goal from Leroy Sané saved the honor at the start of the match, but was not enough to save the German ship. Appointed at the head of the Mannschaft in the summer of 2021, Joachim Löw’s successor at the head finds himself ever more threatened, after this negative series and the elimination in the first round of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. His team will face France, vice-world champion, in Dortmund on Tuesday.
