Italy takes a 2-0 lead in the Davis Cup match against Chile in Bologna. Lorenzo Sonego, number 38 in the ATP ranking, beat Nicolas Jarry (22 ATP) 3-6, 7-5, 6-4 in two hours and 43 minutes. The 28 year old from Turin was the protagonist of a comeback which in the second set also saw him cancel four match points against his opponent. Matteo Arnaldi, number 47 in the ATP ranking, beat Cristian Garin (103 ATP) 2-6, 6-4, 6-3. The 22-year-old from Sanremo paid the price for his debut in Davis, losing the first set against his more experienced opponent. In the following two sets he showed character by recovering the deficit and bringing the point to Italy.
