Jarren Duran’s Impressive Performance Powers Red Sox to Sweep the Blue Jays

Jarren Duran hit five hits, including four doubles, in the Boston Red Sox’ 5-4 win over the Toronto Blue Jays.

The Sox thus complete the sweep of this three-game series. Boston has won all seven games between the two teams this season. The Jays had yet maintained a record of 16-3 last year against the Red Sox.

Duran had the best game of his career against the Jays. In addition to his five hits, he crossed home plate three times.

Facing Jordan Romano in the ninth inning, Alex Verdugo broke a 4-4 tie by hitting his sixth homer of the season to put the Red Sox ahead for good.

Brandon Belt led the charge on the Blue Jays’ offensive side with a two-homer solo performance. Bo Bichette produced the other two points for his team in this game.

Kevin Gausman allowed two runs in five innings on the mound. He struck out seven batters. Sox starter Garret Whitlock left the game after just one inning with right elbow pain.

Before this three-day trip to the Queen City, the Red Sox had lost their last five games.
