On Friday, May 12, the fourth edition of the 2023 Argentine University Badminton Cup was held, organized by FeDUA (Argentine University Sports Federation) and FEBARA (Badminton Federation of the Argentine Republic), in conjunction with the Avellaneda Regional Faculty from the National Technological University and the National University of Avellaneda.
The competition was held at the “Malvinas Argentinas” Sports Center of the UTN Avellaneda (San Vicente 350, Villa Domínico) and included the participation of student athletes from different universities in the country. In addition, it was a pre-selection day for the formation of the national university badminton team, with a view to participating in the FISU 2023 World University Games, to be held in the Chinese city of Chengdu from July 28 to August 8.
In closing, from the Secretary of University Welfare of the UTN Avellaneda, the Director of Sports, Lic. Marcelo Romero, along with representatives of FEBARA, presented the trophies for first and second place in the mixed double, female individual and individual categories. male: the doubles was won by the couple formed by Iona Gualdi and Santiago Otero, and second place went to Luana Ríos and Nahuel Cerafia (Instituto Superior de Paraná). In the female category, the winner was Iona Gualdi (UADE) and second place went to Luana Ríos (Instituto Superior de Paraná). At the male level, meanwhile, the winner was Santiago Otero (UTN Haedo), and second place for Facundo Ayala (UBA).
