Striker Rufat Dadashov will play for BFC Dynamo in the Regionalliga Nordost next season. The 31-year-old Azerbaijani played for the Berliners in the 2017/18 season. At that time he played a key role in winning the Berlin Cup.

After the success, Dadashov went via Preußen Münster and the US club Phoenix Rising to S04, where the right-footed player spent two seasons in the U23s. Under ex-coach Dimitrios Grammozis, Dadashov was even allowed to get a taste of professional life in the 2nd Bundesliga.

The striker was in the starting XI in the 2-1 away defeat against St. Pauli on Matchday 16. A week later he came on as a substitute shortly before the end of the 4-1 home win over 1. FC Nürnberg.

Another squad nomination against HSV followed, but without an assignment. After that, Dadashov went back to the U23 (more transfer news about S04 at RUHR24).

In the current season, Dadashov has already scored twelve times in 27 regional league appearances for Schalke’s second team, and he has scored five more goals. In Berlin they are therefore happy about the free reinforcement from Gelsenkirchen.

Schalke’s new signing at BFC Dynamo “immortal”: Berlin is looking forward to Dadashov

Because of his goals in the 2018 cup final, he was “immortal” in the fan community, according to the transfer announcement. Those responsible in Berlin were impressed at the time by how Dadashov put in extra shifts for a comeback after an injury in order to be able to be on the pitch in the final.

While the former Azerbaijani international is leaving the Under-23s, the versatile winger Nelson Amadin recently extended his contract with Schalke’s second team. In addition, the S04 will be strengthened in the goalkeeper position by Julius Paris.

With one game to go before the end of the season, head coach Jakob Fimpel’s U23 team is in ninth place in the secured midfield of the West Regional League. Unlike the professionals, the Schalke amateurs have nothing to do with the relegation battle and will also be competing in the fourth-highest league in the coming season.
