Perugia Prepares for Crucial Play-Off Round Against Carrarese

Paz was certainly absent in the first leg of the play-off round against the Tuscans. But there is no shortage of doubts for Formisano…

Perugia is ready to return to the field after the 0-0 draw at home with Rimini which allowed them to gain access to the first national play-off round with the minimum wage.

The draw said it will be a home and away match with Carrarese: it starts on Tuesday 14 May at the “Curi” at 8.30 pm, then it will continue on Saturday 18 May at the “Stadio dei Marmi”.

Draws will now no longer be enough for the red and white team: to pass the round they will need to score at least one more goal than their opponents in the overall calculation of the two matches.

No small task given the technical and physical state of form of coach Formisano’s boys who haven’t won a match since last April 7th (3 to 0 at bottom Olbia).

For the first leg, the Grifo coach will certainly have to do without Paz, who came out battered against Rimini. The situation of other players needs to be evaluated, including that of Angella and Dell’Orco.

But regardless of this, something will need to change to give a boost to a team that seems to be playing at pace and above all is unable to find an outlet in attack.

Mezzoni, Lewis and Vulikic could be selected in front of Adamonis, while in the middle of the pitch Bartolomei and Kouan threaten Torrasi and Iannoni for the two starting shirts.

Without Paz, and with Mezzoni relegated to the back three, Cudrig could be adapted to the right lane, while on the other there will be the usual Lisi.

Is ahead? A return from the first minute of Ricci together with Matos and Sylla cannot be ruled out. Seghetti the possible surprise from the first minute.

PROBABLE FORMATION

Perugia: (3-4-2-1) Adamonis; Mezzoni, Lewis, Vulikic; Cudrig, Kouan, Torrace, Lycee; Matos, Ricci; Chair. All.: Formation
