Juan is the ‘focuser’ of the Rainbow Family, which means that he is the person in charge of organizing this type of meeting and asking for the pertinent permits. We have spoken with him live on our program.
He has wanted “clean image” that is taking place in this group, since many media outlets assure that the meetings they organize are parties in which nudism is practiced and sex is practiced at all hours.
“Drugs, alcohol and technology are not allowed. This is not a rave. It is a movement that has been around the world for 51 years. We have never had any problems”, explains the focal point of the Rainbow Family.
In the live intervention, he also wanted to deny information that all the media are taking for granted: “There are reports that there is rampant sex. We do not practice massive orgies because we are a family in which there are elderly people, children, and adolescents, and we come to learn from each other”.
After collecting Juan’s testimony, in our program we wanted to talk to the other party. Rodrigo Mangana is the tenant of the farm where the Rainbow Family has camped and he has told us that he is quite worried.
“I feel defenseless because I can’t do anything and my animals know they are having a hard time,” he declared. “They contacted me days ago and I didn’t give them permission to enter,” said the tenant, who claims that the ‘hippies’ have broken his word.
