Norway’s Erling Haaland equaled the Premier League’s single-season goalscoring record since its inception in 1992, scoring his 34th goal for Manchester City against Fulham on Sunday 30 April. He joins Alan Shearer and Andy Cole, who had also scored 34 goals in a season, but there were 42 games played per season in the English league and not 38 as has been the case since 1995-1996. The absolute record for goals scored during a season in the English league is still held by the Englishman Dixie Dean, author of 60 goals in 1927-1928 in the jersey of Everton. The goal is also the 50th achievement of the season in all competitions for Haaland in the Mancunian jersey, a total which has not been achieved by a player for an English club since Tom Waring with Aston Villa in the 1930-31 season. .
