“We wanted to surprise the Americans with it. Look, Třinec plays defensive hockey and will win the title… I’m really very proud of how the boys reacted after three meetings,” praised the 49-year-old coach. “It’s not my style of hockey, but it paid off against the opponent. It was a plan. I admit that older coaches also advised me: Take it down and don’t be the Jakub who wants to play hooray hockey,” he explained.
But he didn’t really want to evaluate the tournament completely. “I’m waiting to pick up the phone and take a look. That will be evaluated by other experts, right? Don’t expect any answers on this,” he pointed out, but a moment later he still added: “I’m arrogant and I know that my nature is not ideal and that I’m not quite the super coach that I thought I would be. But today there were tears , because I believed that this year had a chance. And he really should have. If we converted the chances, we are the first in the group,” he claimed.
And then he surprised with his proposed solution to improve the education of young hockey players in the Czech Republic. “I would expand the junior extra league to twenty teams.
