VIDEO ⟩ “Auda” takes the lead in the Football Super League; “Valmiera” loses to “Liepāja”

“Valmiera” lost 0:1 to “Liepāja” at home.

The only goal fell in the 42nd minute, when Gauthier Mankenda prevented the home goalkeeper Carlos Quihad from entering the ball accurately, Nino Nordanus intercepted the ball on the right side of the penalty area and passed it to the middle of the penalty area, from where Luis Paula Ilariu or Dodo sent the ball into the goal.

In the 78th minute, the ball ended up in the “fortress” guarded by the visiting goalkeeper Vladislav Lazarev, who played excellently and saved several times from the loss of goals, but Ruan Ribeiro Rodríguez handled the ball with his hand, and the goal was not counted.

Valmieri started their title defense with a goalless draw 0:0 against RFS, while “Liepāja” did not play in the first round, as their match against “Metta” players was canceled before the game.

The “Valmiera” team lost its attack leader Raimonds Krolli, as well as such important players as Kamilo Mena, Daisuki Yokota, Roman Jakub and goalkeeper Rihardas Matrevica in the off-season, but several new local and foreign footballers have joined the team.

The Kurzeme club starts the season with many foreign players and radical changes in the composition. Among the leading players, Dodo and Gauthier Mankendas have remained in the team, but Mārtiņš ħigurs will miss a large part of the season due to an injury.

Still on Saturday, at 5 p.m., in the central games of the round, “Riga” will meet RFS in the “Mežaparks SV” field in a duel between two Riga teams. TV channel TV4 and website “Sportacentrs.com” will broadcast the fight live.

In the last game of the round on Sunday, Salaspils “Super Nova” will meet “Tukums 2000″/”Telms” at home.
