The Norwegian quartet wins the Biathlon World Cup in the 4×6 kilometer relay; France wins overall

In the first stage, France’s Lou Jeanmont passed the baton first, ahead of Italy and Canada.

In the second stage, the Canadian Nadja Moser was forced to measure the penalty circle after shooting standing, but the German Hanna Kebinger was the first to pass the baton, ahead of Italy by 0.4 seconds and France by 6.4 seconds.

After the third stage, Ingrida Lanmarka Tandrevolla put Norway in the lead, two seconds later the relay was changed by Germany, and 18.1 seconds later by France.

In the last stage, Marte Ulsboo-Reiselanna consolidated the lead, finishing in an hour in eight minutes and 0.7 seconds. The Norwegian women spent only four spare cartridges.

Second in the competition of 15 quartets were the French women, who spent seven spare cartridges and were behind by 15.2 seconds, and the third with identical shooting – the German women, who lost 27.2 seconds to the winners.

Italy ranked fourth, followed by Sweden and Austria.

In the overall ranking of the season after five stages, France collected 345 points, the Norwegians were second with 325 points, and the Swedes were third with 321 points.

Until the competition in Sweden, French biathletes had won twice, the Swedish and Norwegian quartets in stages, while Italy celebrated the victory in the world championship.

On Saturday, the men’s 4×7.5 kilometer relay will also take place, and on Sunday – a distance competition with a joint start, in which Andrejs Rastorgujevs will also participate.

Next week, the World Cup competition will end with the stage in Oslo.
