Mexico’s Matías Grande Competes for Bronze at Archery World Cup in Shanghai

At the closing of the Archery World Cup held in Shanghai, China, Guanajuato archer Matías Grande competed for the bronze medal with his partner, the experienced Alejandra Valencia, in the mixed recurve bow modality.

Unfortunately for the Mexicans they fell to Ankita Bhakat and Dhiraj Bommadevara of India, taking the victory 6-0.

The duel started favorably for the Asians where they won 35-31 with poor judgment from the Mexicans who shot: 9, 9, 7 and 6 and where the Indians put a ten, in the second set they repeated by winning the set 38- 35 removing the possibilities of hanging the tanned metal.

India secured the victory by winning 39-37 with a great performance by the Mexicans who shot: 9, 9,9 and 10 but it was insufficient for Bhakat and Bommadevara to take the victory.

This was the first date of the World Cup series, the next date will be from May 21 to 26, in Yecheon, South Korea, later from June 18 to 23, in Antalya, Turkey. There will be a pause in the competition to hold the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and finally the final dates will be held in Tlaxcala on October 19 and 20.

Matías Grande has already confirmed his presence in the great summer event, where he is currently the Pan-American champion of the discipline.
